Pros

? there is any pros? I was so happy at the beginning to work with this company but it was a short amount of time. The induction process is really good, but you shortly realize after when you start to work....it is not a piece of cake,

Cons

Ignorance from head office, not useful system: they (head) wants you to use all of their system /program properly but they give you limited opportunity to reach it, so you are unable to use it properly,

Pros

Competitive Salary, Generous Annual Leave entitlement, Good Benefits, Some great people to work with! Basic Training well-delivered by L&D team.

Cons

Frontline Staff and Middle Managers are unsupported by Senior Management within the Business areas. Role based Training always get declined, Micro-Management, No Trust in staff, No recognition of teams achievements and efforts, HR (avoid at all costs) they will belittle you and make you believe you are supported through various avenues but when it comes to the crunch, you are ignored, very unprofessional and patronising! Heads of Service trying to run the company as a one man band while Ops Managers are frustratingly having fingers pointed at them for issues out of their control. Having to sit back and listen to instructions dictated, resulting in severe service failures. Slow approval process leading to numerous complaints which in turn adds to what is already a heavy workload. Saddened to be able to list so many negatives, and these are just a few!

I’m sorry to hear of your concerns regarding senior management support. All our managers go through a robust recruitment and selection, and induction and training programme, including staff management and leadership. Ensuring our employees feel supported in their roles is very important to us, and we would always encourage you to have a chat with either your line manager or HR Business Partner if you didn’t feel this way. With reference to role-based training, Sanctuary Group provides mandatory and essential role-based training via its in-house learning academy. We’re sorry that you had a request declined, and when this happens, we always provide a reason as to why that would be the case. In respect of recognition, operational managers are supported in recognising teams and staff progress with reference to the My Performance and Recognition Awards policies, as well as through its Staff Awards programme and other initiatives such as staff ideas. We are very concerned to hear that you had a negative experience with us and would welcome you getting in touch for us to look into things further – please email resourcing.team@sanctuary-housing.co.uk.

Pros

Good pay Annual leave is generous Good hours Flexible working depending on your manager

Cons

The HR/grievance process is a joke. You are treated like a leper should you dare complain. They will bring up anything they possibly can to try and win, lawful or not. Senior management are a joke. An 'if your face fits' culture. People are groomed for internal promotions and transfers - interview process is circus in these instances. There are too many senior managers barking orders and doing nothing. You spend half your job justifying your job or re writing the same information in different formats. Some departments are completely superfluous. You can be doing the same job as someone and be paid differently/have a different job title. I have witnessed many cases of ill qualified, not very intelligent and lazy individuals getting well paid jobs/promoted beyond their ability based on who they are 'in' with, when smart, hard working individuals are overlooked.

Hi, we’re very sorry to learn that you have frustrations about working for us and would really like to turn things around for you as soon as possible. We take feedback from staff very seriously whether this is via our Staff Ideas scheme or concerns about their employment via a grievance. HR Business Partners and senior members of the HR team are available to discuss any concerns informally if you don’t feel able to speak to your line manager. Regarding recruitment for roles at Sanctuary, both internal and external, we do have processes that are in place to ensure that candidates are appointed fairly, and aim to create an environment in which hard work is rewarded. We use an external job evaluation approach to ensure roles within the Group are evaluated and rewarded fairly across our businesses. In line with our charitable objectives, we do review our structures regularly to ensure we are making efficient use of our resources to deliver the best services to our customers. We would encourage you to get in touch to discuss your concerns and see how we can help address these with you. You can contact us by email - resourcing.team@sanctuary-housing.co.uk.
