Pros

The training you receive from the company is generally well put together, which you receive from a number of experienced consultants across divisions. In general, the work culture is good and the majority of people are approachable and easy to get along with. If you really enjoy sales, and are highly motivated to earn some money, this job will likely interest you.

Cons

There is a lack of transparency about bonus systems - which has never been fully disclosed. It really depends on the team you join (work style, environment, jobs etc) - which could either make or break you. There is quite a lot of internal politics in the company - which some end up using to their advantage. Although the company upholds itself as a 'team based unit' etc, this is not the case and if you wish to get into this kind of job - you work only for yourself. This is not verbally communicated of course but it is evident. While the company has good internal opportunities if you are successful, outside of being a recruiter the longer you stay as a recruiter the more difficult you will find it to get a career elsewhere. The skills you develop there aren't really transferable to much else, unless of course you want to be a sales person for the rest of your career. You don't really become an expert in anything - arguably you are an expert in pretending to be an expert. You could even write a term paper on the work environment there comparing it to modern day 'taylorism.'

Pros

Nothing much other than they do pay salary on time

Cons

Management have absolutely no idea of what staff do and refuse to listen or act to ideas. Staff are treated as a commodity, there is no appreciation we are human beings, with people working at least 12 hour days, with no reward. The company says all the right things about treating staff well, rewarding employees and paying them accordingly, reality is the exact opposite. Example: we conducted a whole team wide "day in the life of" excersise over the course of a month with very clear results. 3 years later nothing has been done to resolve the issues that EVERY member of staff identified. There is only a chance for career progression if you suck-up to the boss and have no self pride or ideas. If doesn't matter if you provide a detailed rationale and proof of concept, if management haven't thought of something themselves (which invariably is terrible) no action will be taken. Many staff are leaving right now as a result and I wouldn't be surprised if less than 10% remain from the start of the year. Simply a terrible place to work, stay away. If you want to be treated like an eraser - worked until you no longer exist, without any thanks - then join RS. If you value your sanity and want a career, literally go anywhere else.

Hello and thank you for your review of working with Resource Solutions, although I’m hugely disappointed with everything you’ve said. It’s been a challenging 18 months, and we have not always got everything right during the pandemic, but we have striven wherever possible to keep our people connected, engaged and supported. During that time our teams have earned fantastic client feedback and being named as finalists in multiple industry awards. We have so many ways for employees to engage directly with our senior leadership and to use their voice, both to raise concerns and to propose solutions. Our most recent employee engagement survey generated overwhelmingly positive feedback. We also have our EMEA Employee Engagement Group; ‘Virtual Visits’ with individual teams and our CEO; a wellness committee; and various other opportunities to engage with our global leadership team. Your feedback is disappointing but I do appreciate your honesty. However, I encourage you to come forward, engage in constructive discussion in any of our many forums, and be part of the solution. We are all part of RS and are all responsible for helping to make our business a great place to work. I’m personally very happy to have a candid and confidential conversation with you to understand the issues you raise and start working on solutions together.
