Hidden wine...hidden pay

Pros

It technically a "ritz carlton". I got the meet Cheyenne at training, and oh my God that girl with the light eyes was beautiful.

Cons

This is not a job for a professional adult, you will for the most part stand by the check-in desk like a Carnival Barker and try to get people to notice the hidden wine room, which is named appropriately because nobody knows it's there. If you ask them how much will you earn weekly they will give you a half-assed answer stating that they don't know because they don't know the cash tips. There are no cash tips! My biweekly check if I was lucky was $750 and that's what I made if I was a banquet waiter in addition. This is not a job for professional that has wine knowledge, this is a job for recent college grad that lives in their mother's home and wants ritz Carlton on their resume. You think I'm a jaded ex-employee? Before you accept the job ,ask the employees at the front desk or at the bar or the valets how busy the hidden wine room attendant is. With that said, if you are the type of human being that can stand somewhere for 8 hours straight accomplishing nothing and staring into space without becoming frustrated this is the position for you!

Pros

Best Cafeteria , Food is quite good. You can work for more than one department to make more hours if you are not full time. The managers and co workers are all good people, even security staff. The Ritz competes with other hotels to make sure you are getting paid more then them. They try not to fire you instead work towards improving your skills.

Cons

Be prepared to work your butt off. The effort and hard work you put in is not worth the pay (in toronto), but that is all hospitality. If you are full time they can and will ask you to work extra hours during busy season which can last half the year. You can never say no to a guest no matter how rude or mean they are to you, and you must comply to their demands no matter what. The guests are usually mean, cruel and demanding to the normal workers, but in front of management they will show a different face and lie, they also lie to try and get free stuff, it's probably not personal, so be prepared to suck it up.

Pros

Good benefits, Decent pay. Tips can double your income.

Cons

Claim to be the top 1% in hospitality but a coworker stole $200 Raybans from me. Mediocre place to work overall. They claim to be ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen but I only saw that around management.
