Pros

Base salary Full time remote Job flexibility

Cons

It seems they has been spending very aggressively since receiving their round E funding, and now having to make major cut backs. Resulting with large amounts of staff being let go and restructuring. Increasing targets and KPIs to make bonuses unachievable and staff being put on performance management if they are not achieving 150% of their target as a minimum. Although management are advising they will reduce targets and KPIs to work with new restrictions but instead increase them, when asked why this is, the response is “just deal with it”. Extremely poor and unprofessional management. Given a 15min catch up a week where the manager spends 12min discussing people issues before saying sorry iv another call and hanging up or another who answers your calls with Hey ‘Slut Bag’

Hi there, and thank you for telling us about your Revoluter experience. We pride ourselves on being a place where our people learn and grow and where they appreciate our benefits and rewards. We’re constantly looking to ensure that we support the people who enable us to create great products and support our customers. By intently listening to our employees, we've birthed new policies, such as our hybrid working arrangement, 60-day temporary working abroad flexibility, 2 extra wellbeing days, Team Engagement budgets or just recently RevManager Hub. Thanks to this initiative we will make sure our managers are better prepared for their work. Wish you best!

Pros

Pay is ok, but share options are an empty promise

Cons

If you are a woman, expect your voice pretty much ignored . In this place only the type of people who are loud, robotic, emotionless and machine-like will get what they want. Usually they are men. Don’t expect any team work. You are on your own. That is why this place is usually chaotic and no one knows what others are doing. If your core values are work life balance and growth via learning and development together with your team. Avoid! You will not be happy here. Expect people to put 9pm meeting invite on a Friday night or send you slack messages on Sunday asking you to so some work - senior management takes that for granted, they think you should be working 24/7 and they never thank you for that. Having been here less than a year I have already seen at least 5 colleagues getting mental problems due to stress. Think carefully before you join. The price of the ego of being in a cool company is huge.

Hi - we're very sorry to read these comments and as you're a current employee we hope we can discuss them face to face. First off - we value all our employees and we don't tolerate discrimination so I'm saddened if it doesn't feel like that to you. We don't have as many women as we'd like at senior levels yet but we're working to fix that and we try to make sure that women's voices are heard at every level of the organisation . Indeed two of our country CEOs and our head of global authorisations are women. If you don't feel your colleagues are modelling those values please do come and discuss it. You're also right about work/life balance. We listened to employees and we hope that the group wide flexible working policy and the two extra well-being days we added this year will help to make people's life easier. There can be occasions where people need to join meetings at unsocial times (especially where colleagues are spread across the time zones) but that shouldn't be the norm and teams need to respect people's personal lives and commitments . We're happy to reinforce that. Please reach out to HR or to me personally if you'd like to discuss or raise through the women's guild if you'd prefer an indirect approach. Pros

Decent pay, but not something you wouldn’t get somewhere else. You may be lucky enough to end up in a good team, with colleagues sharing your mindset. Or not.

Cons

Can’t stress enough how much senior managament lacks leadership. However, it doesn’t look like something is going to change. They try to sell you some ideas like “hypergrowth”, “not for everyone” just to mask out the demeaning and toxic way in which senior management behaves. From engineering point of view, don’t expect a consistent progress in your career. You’re hired to get it done, not to come up with ideas. Processes are chaotic and very few things are actually streamlined. Some people are still working towards proving themselves, so 10-12 hours work days are a thing. If you don’t do it, don’t ever expect any kind of meaningful recognition. Work smart, not hard, might be the case, but, let’s not forget, they hire smart people. Quite a few experienced and good engineers have either left or started laying low, just because things don’t seem to change. It’s difficult to find the will to prove yourself in front of someone who gives you no reasons to respect them/inspire you. If you’re a yes man, then be prepared for burnout. Also, having managers telling everyone “good job” on every little thing, is not recognition. Just diminishes the meaning of what “good job” means. And we can tell they don’t actually mean it.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your thoughts. We can hear your discontentment with some of your Revolut experience and we'd like to try to fix that. If you have suggestions on how we can improve your situation, please consider raising them with your line manager and let's see what we can improve. That said, there's no denying that Revolut is on a high growth trajectory as our continually growing customer base and rate of expansion show. That makes this a great place for ambitious, enthusiastic people who want to learn and grow fast but we recognise too that we all have different thresholds for pressure and varied workload capacities so we try to be aware of those differences. We're still growing our capacity and processes fast to meet demand so sometimes our processes and workload haven't been as well managed as we intend or we haven't communicated as carefully as we might - but we do listen and we're always working to improve.. We're serious about feedback from Revoluters. By intently listening, we've birthed new policies, such as our hybrid working arrangement, 60-day temporary working abroad flexibility and our new exciting office spaces (RevLabs). We certainly hope you stay the course as a Revoluter. All the best.
