Management is plagued by those who have "failed up."

Pros

There are some great people still here, and if you take the initiative you can learn a lot about all areas of the business by reaching out to others (assuming they don't see you as a threat). The backlot is gorgeous and there is a lot of Hollywood history everywhere.

Cons

Upper management has been making terrible decisions for a while now. Many good people have already jumped ship rather than continue to take direction from irrational bosses. The studio has lost many of its more recent tentpoles and has been struggling to find anything with staying power, besides the one saving grace of Transformers (as terrible as those are).

Loved my job and my co-workers, hated senior management.

Pros

Positive environment to work, and you're surrounded by creative, hardworking people. Most people happy to work here, and stay a while.

Cons

Senior management in my department completely removed from day to day processes, or any processes for that matter. Unwilling to listen to feedback. Could care less about well-being of employees/office morale.

Pros

The grounds of Paramount are gorgeous, it is magical just walking around the lot and seeing active production.

Cons

The office culture in my department was cutthroat, everyone was desperately trying to get ahead, and was willing to do whatever necessary to get there. Pay was VERY low, was the lowest paying job I have had in 9 years. Benefits were so-so. Upper management was harsh because the majority of them had been assistants at one time, and they therefore viewed assistants as "paying their dues". Environment was demanding, hours were long. Felt like boot camp, but made me a better assistant.
