Pros

Great 85 year history and was the conglomerate of the day. Some very good engineering talent and hugely loyal workers. People have been here for 40+ years and many for 30+ years. If you are in a senior position, you get treated well, e.g. specialised parking based on your grade, stock, and if you are very senior, you can use one of the 2 private jets!

Cons

Over the past decades, it has sold off almost all its businesses. Motorola mobility made sense as Apple and Samsung were the only real choice left for a mobile phone, but why sell the enterprise business to Zebra? The enterprise business (the old symbol business) was the growth engine. Now Motorola solutions is propping its share price up by cutting costs rather than growing. A real shame to a company that was a company to be reckoned with year ago.

Pros

Great co-workers some of the most intelligent dedicated people I've ever had the pleasure to work with.

Cons

They've cut most of the people with real experience, too bad they have no need for the people that brought them to the dance. It's all about the investors and very little about the employees.

Pros

Flexibility with Paid Time Off

Cons

After a 35 year career at Motorola, it is disgusting to say the least how all of the benefits promised to retirees during their tenure have virtually disappeared. "We take care of our retirees" was once the mantra of the founders of this once phenomenal corporation. Unfortunately, corporate greed has won and those who devoted their careers to Motorola have found themselves on the losing end. Frozen pensions in 2007, offloading pension obligation to an insurance company, and minimal contributions to health care as of 2016 with further reductions to come in 2017. $3500 per family towards yearly health care expenses...really? These are not the values of the company founded by the Galvin family who valued their employees. Shame on you, Motorola.
