Pros

Nice facilities in Cary, NC. Fairly relaxing environment, especially for employees. Did not really see them working overtime or too stressed. Most employees on my floor worked from home on Friday. I suspected some did other days, as their desks would be empty for a week or more at a time.

Cons

Contractors treated as second class, there to mop up things employees did wrong or failed on. Shortage of seats, despite the fact many were empty each day. You were not allowed to sit at a desk unless it was assigned to your business unit. Internal information systems are ancient and very fragmented. A lot of manual entry and tickets have to be open. Despite being the Global Technology Office (GTO), MetLife employees do very little coding or support of their own systems. It is primarily done by vendors and their teams. (contributing to the apparent great quality of life for employees!) Restructure of the company due to sell/trade off of US retail business is leaving some in limbo.

Pros

Great benefits and perks. Pleasant work environment

Cons

Poor leadership, mixed messages, too much politics. Conflicting feedback, unethical business practices - following policy only applies to a few not all

Pros

The only positive aspects that I can relate to employment at the Johnstown office: close to home and it was a paycheck.

Cons

So much micro-management at this office, it's unreal. They try to make you believe that you are working an actual HR job, when in fact, you are in a call center with a job title that is not "CSR". Call audits, peer audits... so many "quality audits" on employees that it makes you feel like you're back in high school. Employees and "management" auditing your work and telephone calls who have never done the work or answered an actual telephone call in their career. This all ties with your annual bonus which will be non-existent after they run you through the ringer. Slightly above minimum wage pay.. in a town that is dying off. This is the only reason you have people sticking around.
