Cons

No work life balance- if you work at Mecca they expect it to be your LIFE. Working overtime with no pay. Casuals must apply for "leave" if they want any time off (even just 1 day) months in advance and even then it will probably not be approved. No flexibility. Lack of training since the business has grown so much. Back to back makeup appointments given to store hosts and not fairly delegated amongst team- Lack of qualified makeup artists. Completely out of touch higher management/head office (support centre)

Pros

Great staff benefits, discounts, freebies and pay rate. The beginning of employment is incredibly exciting and drool-worthy, with grand plans of staff parties, prizes, bonuses and potential for career progression. Makes for a hopeful experience. Staff events are amazing. Good potential for networking with brands.

Cons

Managers and training incredibly inconsistent. Makes for a confusing working space. Misleading praise. Didn't appreciate the push on up-selling and active selling. Customer service should come before selling an unnecessary item to a buyer.

Fantastic culture and training. The support from the higher ups is really great. Competitive above award pay rates. Customer service training is amazing

Cons

Only on the extremely rare occasions do they hire for management positions outside the company Inconsistent with training across concepts (Cosmetica/Maxima)
