Pros

- No stress at work - very flexible working hour and lunch hour - No need to work over time - job is very secured and stable

Cons

- Some people works here for 3 years without promotion. Even his performance is extraordinary. Salary is very bad if you do not get close with management (since they have no technical sense to understand what he has done). - the true leader in the team all left / leaving due to incompetence of management (head and recently promoted lead). It very hard to survive in lalamove now since all the talented senior data analyst (including senior business intelligence engineers) are all left. And you have no idea on how to do the work and constantly make mistakes as the head and lead do not have any idea on how to do actual work (the head is purely business background and the lead has no hands on experience) - not performance based evaluation. the management team basically promote / raise salary based on their own taste. at the year end, You will just be told what ranking you are without telling you the reason why you got this - the management (lead level up) in this team do not know anything about the data in terms of technical sense. the recent lead promotion is purely based on personal favour and politics. right after the lead being promoted, all of the senior members left because of chaotic decision made by the head and lead causing multiple incidents and fixes (causing huge unnecessary workload to the team) - the management is lack of knowledge causing them not able to make right decision. lots of hard code stuff created by the team lead. He successfully hided all the messy logic behind the sense and making junior data analyst and other people having a very hard time cleaning up his mess.

Pros

Opportunity to develop new skills (if allowed by upper management)

Cons

Although this could've been a great opportunity in the US, it has quickly turned into a high turnover and low morale situation. Hardly any of the founding team is left. Upper management refuses to listen to US hires regardless of the experience they bring to the table. Despite having a lengthy recruitment process and being extremely particular in who they will interview, the team's experience means nothing unless upper management deems it worth noting. If you want to survive, you need to just do as you're told. Don't question it- just do it. Pay is offensive and pay raises are not considered because the team doesn't "deserve" it. Time off is never really time off. You have to be available at all times. If you have your laptop open or the internal messaging app on your phone, expect notifications ALL THE TIME unless you turn it off. Burn out is high in the US. While all employers were allowing WFH during a global pandemic, the US was not given much of an option. It was decided that there was no trust and no visibility on the work so everyone needed to be in the office.
