Pros

Discount to employees is very good.. but then again the prices are rather high

Cons

Employees are told to deceit customers just to get sales. Bad management and very unorganized. Managers show facial expressions when customer don't buy anything and they get mad just if customers want to browse!! Age discrimination as well. The worst company I have ever worked for...

Pros

+ Small and quaint, boutique- like environment + You get to work alone or with no more than 1-2 other employees (depending upon how large your store is) + If you're looking for a job that is Part- Time where you clock in and clock out, this is the place + Work/ Life balance + Your fellow employees are really nice; there is no cattiness or gossip mill

Cons

Where does one begin? First of all, this is a French company that takes advantage of our unjust minimum wage system within the United States. At my particular location and from what I have heard from other former L'Occitane employees-- they do not hire Full- Time unless you are working at a high volume location (if that). They give you no more than 10- 11hrs minimum or 16-18hrs max a week at the highest. If you know retail, then you know this hiring scheme is done in the U.S. so companies do not have to pay out any benefits to their hard working employees, which is BS. They WILL penalize you by sabotaging hours if you are not able to live up to their standards for sales. Trying to sell 3 small ramekin-sized "anti- aging" face creams at $110 a pop is very difficult to do in an erratic economy, and they are so out of touch with this reality that it is absolutely mind- blowing. Most importantly, they are pawning themselves off as a "natural" and "organic" skin care line, in the height of the natural beauty and food trend at the moment, to which, they are not. This is something that perhaps I have the most problem with working here. I do not feel comfortable LYING to customers about this. Please, please DO YOUR RESEARCH, PEOPLE. There are several videos on Youtube and Google that dispute L'Occitane's claim of being "All Natural". They are getting away with it and it's disgusting. Another thing I have a problem with is the fact that they claim to give a percentage of their money back to these poor, indigenous women of Burkina Faso who source their Shea Butter that they then put into the products of . I can assure you that at $2 billion dollars in profit, their "give back" is not nearly enough. Minor- Mid Level issue: They use a completely OUTDATED POS system. It makes having to do transactions very difficult to make. You can definitely tell where this company chooses to spend money and where they do not.

Pros

The pros at this company are it people, their benefit package is really great, you get more vacation time than most companies, and their employee discount is high at 40% off

Cons

The Leadership team has no vision and feels stuck in their ways. They are trying to run the company as its ran in Europe and clearly is not working here in the US. These are two completely different markets. There is no growth here, when you get promoted you receive A higher title but continue to do the same work so you do not learn or grow your skill sets. The HR team feels nonexistent. They are not easily accessible and once you actually sit with them nothing is done to your benefit.
