Interviewed here for a recruiter role a couple months ago. After 3 interviews, they had me go into the office and shadow employees and meet the team I'd be joining. At the end of the day, the manager brought me into the office and said she had to "address the elephant in the room" and asked me how I felt about the fact that I am "significantly older" than the other employees. As a 30 year old woman, I find this comment insane. This company was asking for 3 years minimum experience, offering only $24 an hour to commute in to the Boston office, and then turning around and saying that I was too old for the job. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life and truly cannot believe the blatant age discrimination at play here. I was not offered the job because of my age and I am thankful for that, as I would NEVER want to work for this company or any that believed that this behavior is okay.
