Pros

Interesting ideas. Trying to do something good.

Cons

Toxic work culture. Lack of execution. Quality is the last priority, and it shows with time. Customers do not return. Products do not last more than a year, if six months. The majority of the original team, original business units, original connection to the missions is all gone. I can speak most directly about the microbial products since that is the group I worked with. An embarrassing mess. Poor management, organization, handling of the science that makes me sad, full of pain, disappointed. A problem is the some of the people are really good, or have good resumes, that would make you think they would do better. However it is chaotic and a bad work environment. Cut the data to look good, skip corners, who cares about contamination, product out the door at all cost. If you come from a good background and want to feel gaslit, come work here. The microbiology/ R&D, "Quality", Manufacturing business unit is a mess - stay away.

Pros

Decent Pay, Remote working options, Lunch provided, no dress code. But after working here, you will realize even the pros are a disguise for the bs you will be dealing with.

Cons

Where do I start... Tuesday, December 15th was the day Indigo had its 3rd layoff in 2020 NOT COVID RELATED!!! I had so much hope for this company but now I am convinced that this is the biggest scandal since Enron. How in the hell do you convince investors to continue contributing to a company that has no idea what they are doing?? There's no direction anymore and honestly, I'm not sure if there ever has been. Indigo has raised over 2 billion dollars at this point and they still have not gone public. They have cut salaries, continues to layoff people, cut lunches down to 2 days a week, combined departments and still not a public company. The people team is a joke!!! The entire management team is a joke. Indigo does not know who they are or what the are doing. You get stocks that aren't worth a dime!! Now we have the opportunity to purchase our stock when leaving the company but even then, it's still a gamble. The stocks may not, excuse me, the stock WILL never be worth a dime because they are not going public. I will give Indigo til March 2021 and they will be laying people off again!! I'm just disappointed in what this company has turned into. TRUST NO ONE!!! Do not leave the company you have worked at for years just to come to this place and work for less than 3-5 months before you are no longer needed. They are moving wayyyyyy too fast and still haven't learned their lesson. I am glad to be making my way out the door!!! I've learned alot in the past couple years. INDIGO IS A JOKE!!! NO TRUST, NO STABLILITY, NO RESPECT, NO DIRECTION, NO MONEY, LACK OF LEADERSHIP, NOTHING!!! THIS PLACE IS NOTHING!!!! I really hope and pray they have some good lawyers because when it goes down, Alot of people will be in handcuffs!!!!

HR is poisonous

Pros

OK-ish salary, free food, good engineering culture

Cons

It is quite surprising that the weakest link at Indigo is HR. HR is what has brought this company to its knees and made it a sinking ship. They fired countless highly capable contributors for purely political reasons. They perform constant surveillance of social media posts and I know of people who were fired for quite benign comments on Facebook/Twitter/Linkedin. This percolates to overall employees' mood: there is an atmosphere of fear, repression, distrust and personality cult.
