Pros

-decent commission if you have a good month

Cons

-all of their upper management staff are from out of the country -ZERO room for growth -you will get micromanaged like never before -personally, I had a manager who wouldn't stop talking as he sat right next to me so couldn't get work done -they spend 5 minutes interviewing a candidate then send him to a company and expect $20k fee. There is literally zero value in Hays Services. This company is the definition of throwing dirt at the wall and praying to god it sticks. -they will only give a 3 month guarantee period, then will head hunt their placed candidates 4 months in so they don't have to refund the clients

Pros

The only benefit for me was to get my foot in the door in a recruitment agency which allowed me to get a great role in another agency after my time here.

Cons

Horrible bullying culture from the Directors - one in particular in the Accountancy team based from their Glasgow office. Speaks to staff like dirt despite only having 2-3 years experience a long time ago within recruitment and not respected at all for work related and personal reasons. It's a very 'sharkey' environment where your colleagues would steal candidates and hide the fact permanent roles were actually contract so that they could work the role instead and get the fee. Working hours were 8.30 - 6 but if you walked in after 8am or left before 6.30pm it was frowned upon - and in the whole year I was there i was able to take one proper lunch break. Was verbally insulted in a review and was left with low confidence and dreaded coming to work. A lot of people in there hide behind big job titles but in fact are poorly respected in the market. It's a rubbish commission scheme compared to other agencies, and other than having a global name on the door, there really is no selling points to working here. Poor office culture and so many office politics and dramas in and out of office hours. You could times my salary by 10 and I would never work here again.

Pros

The London office is very good. A good training ground for raw grads if you cant find anywhere better to work.

Cons

Firstly, pay and basics are ridiculously low. This is because if they make people redundant they only have to pay statutory minimum. This company are tight beyond belief. Secondly, a number of senior people have left and I am yet to find ONE who has a positive thing to say about this company. Staff turnover is ridiculously high for a reason. Those that are left are either looking to leave or un-inspirational that they have a knock on effect on others who will then want to leave. This is a sinking ship and the next 12/18 months will prove that.
