Pros

nothing, some nice people and salary

Cons

1. HR: company is completely has no HR department, even the technical department. They keep giving orders about tasks and work they have no clue about. 2. Workload: Not divided properly or even based on the skill sets of the engineers. Completely ignorance about what their calibers can do. 3. Upper Management: I am pretty sure none of them went to school not even college. They have no clue about anything and all they care for is how to annoy the employees. If they ever have the chance to make us work for free they will (which they did in this crisis with some people). 4. Crisis Management: No crisis management, just like the previous point. I’m sure None of them went to college or understands how to handle a crisis. They don’t mind risking the employees life for cash. They deliberately ignore the employees raised flags about danger and their need for a response from them. And their lesson learned from any crisis is yes we will have you risk your life and if you fear for your life and ask for another solution, their indirect answer is that you will be fired. 5. Quality “Department”: This is just a joke, a couple of people sitting behind their desks doing absolutely nothing and cashing in their paychecks at the end of every month 6. CEO: A complete idiot, any female can control him easily. Has no idea how to run a company like this. Lost a lot of amazing and great calibers with his childish acts. 7. Raises and Promotions: none of that happens, they are based on the appraisal that they don’t do and even if they did, it’s not taken into consideration 8. Appraisals: A complete joke and waste of time.

Pros

None that I can think of compared to American companies.

Cons

HCL bows down to customer feedback regardless of your performance. No loyalty. You may have been doing above and beyond performance for several years, then a new customer manager steps in and decides they want a rookie with no proven background to take your place, then HCL will dismiss you. HCL is a puppet to the customer regardless of your proven performance. I worked for HCL nearly 8 years, received 2 promotions, outperformed all of my peers combined, and received 2 dismal salary increases. In the end, I was earning less $$ cause of cost of living .

Pros

I can only appreciate the great team I ended up with, very nice people always trying to help each other.

Cons

Management and HR don’t exist… The worst company ever! I don’t know how is possible that big companies still hire HCL to take care of their projects, I assume they’re cheap, but this has negative consequence especially on the employee! The entire management staff is in India and they don’t care about you, a lot of issues on payslips (less money, never more :D), and to fix this, it will expect you an excruciating threads of emails, begging for your own money. In case you get a promotion, your contract won’t change and you won’t have an increase of salary…basically, you’re just working more! The annual bonus is a mere mirage, even when you work harder then ever and your metrics are perfect, every month you will receive the default answer: “you’ll have it next month!” You will be lost ESPECIALLY at the beginning: trainings are ridiculous, done from someone not even in the country, any of your questions will never have a response…as I said…LOST. Minimum by law: no bonus, no perks, no sick paid, no health insurance, 20 day holidays, work on bank holiday. I was not completely sincere about perks, you have free sneaks :D You can’t trust the company, in case you need some papers for every possible situation, for bank, revenue or visa you won’t receive assistance, the HR is completely useless! At the end probably you will receive what you need but every time you will have for sure to fight for it.
