Pros

It is really flexible and allows you to coordinate with students to book sessions that accommodate both your schedules. There are many clients so there is a lot of opportunity to make money and pick up shifts if you so choose.

Cons

The website is really buggy, so often a tutor has to go through tech support to book a follow up session. The schedule on the website was 8 or 9 hours off so you have to keep a private schedule so there are no mixups with clients. They also pay by wire transfer and it can take a really long time. I started working for GoStudent is late September and I didn’t receive my first pay check until late November.

At GoStudent we stand for flexible scheduling options and we strive to fulfill our customers’ needs while giving our tutors easy and flexible access to new customers. For that reason it sometimes happens that our team will contact our tutor community at later times of the day to schedule a tutoring session. When these are outside of regular business hours, we will offer our tutors to take them on if mutually agreed upon and beneficial, but it is not mandatory or expected. Pros

Warm, fresh leads daily. Fair and livable base salary. Good commission (uncapped). Inclusive and equitable. Great working environment. Amazing co-workers and company culture. Excellent support (moral and IT). New equipment.

Cons

Tech issues. High and moving targets (have been fixed since I left).

The support team is very approachable and have a good communication with the tutors. They are open to receiving feedback and work hard day and night to resolve problems.

Cons

The platform is still fresh in Canada and therefore still needs time until it is completely free of bugs and glitches.
