Pros

Finding these hard to come by these days.

Cons

Senior management asking folks to return to office the week before thanksgiving and stating that if you want to work from home Fitch is not the place for you and then saying if you don’t come in we will take directive. Middle management scaring folks into the office going so far as to say that our “attendance” will be tracked and sent all the way up to the CEO. I’d like to think the CEO has better things to worry about then whose in the office but maybe not. Also they are pretty firm that our job can’t be done at home when for the last 20 months it has been and the other two agencies haven’t sent their employees back and also offer full time virtual. Times are changing and Fitch isn’t doing enough to remain competitive with the other agencies. Folks are leaving and nothing is being done about it. It’s disappointing, especially when it’s happening during a time where people are leaving and getting better offers and the job market is right but they don’t value the current employees enough to keep us. The easiest thing management could do is be more flexible instead of demanding workers into the office 3 days a week. The hybrid policy needs to be rethought.

Pros

Good vacation. 401kmatch, and generally low pressure environment. Positive employee growth initiatives recent years. Nice NYC office (Hearst Tower) and unique parent (Hearst).

Cons

If you are a top performer, you will be squeezed for every drop to make up for mediocre colleagues and in effective managers... with very little reward. Raises are very low and there is no transparency on how they are allocated. If your lucky you get an "adjustment after years of low raises. News Flash - the company has had a policy of no annual raises to Senior Directors since the recession (in 2010!). They claim to make up for it in variable comp, however aftet a decade of this policy the math doesn't work. You will have those reporting to you pass you on base and sometimes all in comp. This is the case for newly promoted SD as well. The company talks out of both sides of thier mouth to justify low comp... good years or bad, they will have a reason. Work Life balance has faded esp for top contributors and esp post pandemic.

Pros

- Interesting Work - 7% 401k Match - Ability to learn and move to different IT groups - Make sure you negotiate highest salary before accepting position - Great Co-Workers - Great place to get hands on experience in multiple IT Sectors

Cons

- Company doesn't pay market rate. - Healthcare is now standard. In the past, it was exceptional but now has followed the trend for Healthcare coverage. Yet, compensation is well below market. - No training or development path for IT staff. - Raises are minuscule and salary adjustments often WAY fall short of market - Long hours, Weekend work (too often), 8-16 Hour DR tests with no comp days, and frequent off hours rotation. - No operations team any more. Engineers are expected to design and provide support. - Infrastructure team has been shrinking. Not enough staff members. - 401K is not paid weekly anymore. It is paid the following year in March. You loose out in earnings.
