Not bad; not good

Pros

Straightforward work; get to be out in the field all day. Networking, meeting lots of people. Good training.

Cons

Not many good paying jobs wants to work with a talent agency. Each Express franchise has it's own way of running things, but they all share 1 reputation, and the owners don't seem to get that. If one location hires for crap jobs, then businesses assume they all do and don't wanna work with us. Most the people in my office have a highschool mentality, including the owners.

Absolutely Irritating

Pros

They seem eager to help you gain employment (at first) First assignment was (as the employment professional put it) chill and the environment seemed lax

Cons

You have to stay on them when it comes to communication, gainful employment, and new job prospects. I was terminated from my first assignment after taking three days leave to volunteer on a missing persons search party (I chose to keep it vaguely stated as "volunteering" so as to not discuss the case). Yet, this was negotiated upon assignment (so I was lead to believe). I received a text the morning of my first day volunteering, that my assignment had ended. Afterwards, there was a minimal effort to find another job. I had to spam the office in the Denver metro area several times daily, until I just gave up and cut the middle-man out of the picture. If there are so many jobs in America, then why in the hell is it so hard to get one??

Pros

Good job for someone coming out of college to get professional experience

Cons

The company as a whole is fine and if the branch is run by professionals with business degrees then it might be fine. The company is VERY conservative and 99% of the branches are run by husband and wife teams. I, personally, wouldn’t want to work in the same place as my significant other but I guess some people think otherwise. I found my self employed by a couple that shouldn’t even be married to eachother, much less be business partners. They took advantage of the fact that I had just graduated college and needed a job. They over worked and under paid me for 2 years and when I decided enough was enough, and started to interview elsewhere, I was fired for doing so and was denied unemployment. Needless to say, the branches (they owned 2 branches and I was the sole recruiter at both at one point) that I worked for treated their employees horribly and cared more about their personal lives and their own income than their employees. I actually got to see how much each of them took home yearly and together they made about $500,000… I made $46,000 after 2 years…
