Pros

If you want to further your education or you are between jobs and just need something temporary this is the ideal place. This is not a long term career path.

Cons

Ups-Scs has bought out allot of competitors over the past 8 years. They keep dead weight on payroll and you seriously question what it is exactly these people do. . Most of the long term employees are near retirement age and are just there to receive a paycheck. The pay is extremely unfair. example - one person that only audits files makes 45K annually with the same level of education as someone that does much more complex and detailed work that only makes 28K annually. HR is useless and tells you to call the 800 # anytime you have any questions or concerns. Management staff for the most part are lacking in basic people skills and intelligence. There is allot of management staff in comparison to hourly employees. Very high turn over ratio even in today's hard economy and very stressful work due to incompetent/inept management. high turn over in customers as well due to the above mentioned incompetence. Ups-Scs is the most expensive brokerage service provider and the least compensating to their people.

Pros

The work itself is straightforward once you learn customs regulations. Easy to remain compliant if you follow procedures. Large, well-known company name on your résumé. Healthcare

Cons

Heavy micromanagement; productivity is tracked by EPIC active status, not actual output. You can process significantly more shipments than peers, but if you do it efficiently and faster, you are penalized with more work and no additional compensation. Raises are minimal (approximately $0.20–$0.30 per year), even for strong performers. No transparency around performance evaluations or advancement. Toxic culture where favoritism is evident—employees are rewarded for “kissing up” rather than performance. Leadership promotes people similar to themselves and blocks others from advancing. Supervisor will not answer questions independently and defers everything to the Lead. The Lead lacks clear written communication, which creates confusion and rework. Management does not reflect the customer base—most customers are Spanish-speaking, yet leadership lacks Spanish proficiency. Employees feel bullied rather than supported.
