Pros
All Pax Agents employed for Swissport are 99% part-time, without benefits working a standard 4.5 hour daily shift. With the work schedule it allow the flexibility of one attending school or other responsibilities. Young adult professionals in their 20's who are in college best suit this job. Retail customer service skills are transferrable in a airport environment. Airport exposure is gain from a worker's perspective as oppose to a passenger as there is a lot of steps and much to do to prepare one aircraft on the ground before it goes airborne.
Cons
All Pax Agents are expected to purchase uniforms from their own pocket at $250.00; airport ID card fee of $100.00; fingerprints at $30.00 without benefits working a standard 4.5 hour daily shift. There is no potiental growth or future for professional development of an established adult. Long time Pax Agents employed for five plus years of my fellow peers has never received a salary increase of any increment. It's a job to fill the void on a resume, not something to become a career to boost proudly of.
