Pros

I enjoyed my experiences and learned a tremendous amount about the business and process. There are some truly bright and upcoming leaders in this company, and I enjoyed learning with and from them.

Cons

Management style can be micro-management like at times, especially when production issues directly affecting KPI are encountered. I understand the need for this to a point, however, the method was obviously flawed as it backfired more often than not and became counter intuitive to team goals (lower moral, no true resolution to issues due to lack of support/resources, etc). Also, the company is VERY lean, to a point where it is more detrimental to the process and employees than helpful. There is no Project Engineer, Safety Engineer, Industrial Engineer, etc at the particular site I worked. Other "engineering" positions are expected to make up for this without the proper resources or knowledge to be successful in these areas. Operator moral is also extremely low, leading to very high turnover rates. This, combined with lack of proper training, leads to higher scrap and more quality issues.

Thank you for your review of Prysmian Group, and I’m pleased to hear you enjoyed your experience and gained insight into the industry. We take pride in everyone who joins our team, so it’s great to hear your positive feedback on the up and coming leaders in the company. Your comments on running our organization lean are noted, and we are currently in the midst of a major recruiting effort geared towards attracting engineering talent to our facilities worldwide, including in the U.S. We feel this influx of talent, specifically with regards to Project Engineers, Safety Engineers, and Industrial Engineers, will alleviate many of the issues you have brought up. In addition, we are continually developing and growing the scope of our training programs to ensure everyone has the proper knowledge and access to resources to meet project goals successfully. Thanks again for your feedback, and I will make sure that all your thoughts are communicated to the leadership team.

Pros

Some of if not most people are friendly and supportive. Okay-ish benefits. Slightly better than the average I would say. Flexible hours for flex40 and salary people. In my particular case, they are very flexible when it comes to doctor appointments and kids' activities.

Cons

Emotional and mental damage from a toxic environment. Gossip galore and everyone is eager to point fingers or say "not my job". Managers who literally yell and curse at employees. Everyone is overworked and underappreciated. Sexism runs rampant. Communication between mangers, departments, and floor operators is non-existent. FAVORITISM EVERYWHERE! Certain people are treated differently because they are "in" with the right people in management. No one is treated equally. The machinery on the floor is old and falling apart.
