Pros

Pratt & Whitney works on interesting aerospace technologies and provides exposure to large-scale engineering programs.

Cons

The team faced challenges due to limited technical delegation from management. Key technical decisions were concentrated with one manager who tended to retain most decisions rather than distributing them across the engineering team, which created bottlenecks and slowed development. Work-life balance is very poor, with consistently high expectations and heavy workloads that can be difficult to sustain long term. Management and leadership decisions often lack clear communication and support for engineering teams, which can create unnecessary pressure and frustration.

Pros

Decent pay and good benefits.

Cons

Personnel reporting to me had apparently looked up my political affiliation (which I had never mentioned) and took exception to it by sabotaging work that I had supervised. This was well before 2022 - actually 2015-2016 (2022 is earliest review date I could select). I was just now remembering it. This polarized political posture was a function of the plant being near Harrisburg, PA which, at least then, was a somewhat "redneckish" area. I have never discussed my politics at work, so it seemed absurd of them to look up my party affiliation and take issue with it.
