Nothing Bundt Cakes

Is this your company?

This job was very stressful, demanding, and nerve wracking, but I definitely learned a lot. - Greeter Nothing Bundt Cakes Employee Review

Pros

-I learned to work at a fast pace -Very good management -Good pay for a 17 year old (I started at $8 an hour and ended at $8.50 when I quit after 7 months) -Employee discount :-) -LOVED MY BAKER! He was very sweet and funny.

Cons

-Very cramped when busy! Costumers were disrespectful a lot as well, which didn't make it easier. -One small mistake can turn into a huge one -Lots of work ASIDE from customer service -Employment seemed to be a little racist. I'm white, but I noticed my manager seemed to decline applications from Asians, African Americans, and Hispanics. I wish there was more diversity in my work environment. -You'd only get a break if you work at least 6 hours--which was rare for a greeter. Shifts are usually 3-5 hours and oddly didn't seem to go by fast. -Bakery closed at 6, but should be 7. Lots of people knock on the door after closing! Not a good timing, especially with rush hour and construction.

Pros

It was okay in the beginning

Cons

Basically I got fired from Nothing Bundt Cakes, but the way they handled it is what really upset me. The day before, they were acting normal and even told me “see you tomorrow.” Then I came in for my shift the next day ready to work and they told me not to clock in and to call the manager. She fired me over the phone and kept repeating over and over that I “wasn’t the right fit” and that I “didn’t fit in,” but wouldn’t actually explain what that meant when I asked for a reason. Then she told me they had already decided the day before that Tuesday was going to be my last day, but nobody communicated that to me. So I basically showed up to work not even knowing I was already fired. Even when I returned my stuff and got my check, she still wouldn’t really say anything or give me a clear explanation. It just felt really unprofessional, confusing, and honestly hurtful.
