Avon is an odd environment to flourish and be comfortable in - Senior Marketing Manager Natura Employee Review

I spent just over a year at Avon and after just a few weeks i was already hugely regretting my decision to join. The people are friendly enough, but it feels somewhat ‘cult-ish’ due this odd culture of us vs them - us being employees who have been there for 5+ years, and them being newbies who joined with experience outside of Avon. There seems to be a lack of willingness to adapt to change and new ideas for growth, which i could only assume was driven by fear of being made redundant. There was always this unspoken need to prove your worth. Which as you can imagine led to a lot of in-fighting, backstabbing and highly uncomfortable engagements. And this behaviour went all the way up to senior levels - teams just could not work well together, and this was not helped by overlap in roles and lots of confusion around roles and responsibilities. I genuinely used to wonder how people could thrive in such an environment, but i guess it was just the way it had been for years.
