Pros

You can take time off very easily and it can be a very amusing job. There are also 20% off days.. which is okay. You do get good experience with dealing with annoying people.

Cons

Where to begin. Horrible salary. I'm currently getting paid a quarter over minimum after working there for two years. I don't get many hours despite my open availability. Management sucks. You have to ask customers to open TJX rewards cards, which no one wants to open. Customers are extremely rude and they are always trying to get discounts on the merchandise. The store is always dirty. They never have enough employees working. Not a great working atmosphere. Employees are extremely dumb (they are the people everyone talked s**t about in high school). Overall not great.

Pros

The work is the same every day (at least for janitors), and you don't have many surprises. In my experience, there is a lot of leeway for who does what as long as it gets done. I don't personally mind helping out in all departments after I am done cleaning. Current store manager (not asms) is very nice and understanding.

Cons

The management (Assistant managers in my experience) is at each other's throats to be the best out there and suck up to the district manager. The pressure to coerce customers into buying into the TJX card is a bit much. It all trickles down to the front end, which then causes everyone to be unhappy. Compensation is low and raises are based on company loyalty first, then your efficiency.
