Pros

I worked for a franchise of Le Wagon. + State of the art work tool-kit + Great programming worldwide community + Made friends and enjoyed meeting people from different walks of life and helping them progress in their careers as coders. + Good conditions but broken promises + Visibility and network growth

Cons

Franchising models makes all the business side fall to a single person. - The franchise owner puts his economic interest before the students. - Extreme micro-management. You'll work with a guy that wants to control everything you make, making you feel worthless and who wont allow you to be yourself and put in motion any initiative. - Impossible character to deal with. Hyper introverted, always annoyed, shady, dishonest, schemer, shrewd, etc. I seriously think my manager was not a a good person at all and therefor, doesn't represent the values I learnt at Le Wagon being a former student. After firing me he wanted to destroy my career writing managers of other position that I was interviewing for, I consider that mean and despicable. - Rude manners and lost in translation management rhythm - Super poor communication skills with employees and 0 team building. - Poor team management abilities. - Lack of the necessary investment. I had to pay things in representation and good interest from my own money. I never got that money back from him. - Lack of business vision. The list goes on but definitely I wont recommend you to work with the franchise owner in Spain. No one likes him.

Pros

- The community looks for teachers who are alumni from the program - The teaching content is updated regularly - The community itself is a huge benefit - Flexibility of making your own schedule - It's enjoyable helping students learn to code & change their lives - The core platform dev team is very responsive - Opportunities to teach globally with students from all over the world - Most students are engaged and actively trying to enrich themselves or change careers

Cons

The hours are long for teachers. I was typically putting in 10 - 12+ hrs per day: lecture for a 1-2 hrs, problem solve with students until 17:00, live code for 1 - 1.5 hrs, and then prep for the next day for another 1 - 2 hrs after class. The experience of the teaching role is largely impacted by the GM of the campus- some will micromanage while others are entirely hands off.
