Pros

Opportunity to develop new skills (if allowed by upper management)

Cons

Although this could've been a great opportunity in the US, it has quickly turned into a high turnover and low morale situation. Hardly any of the founding team is left. Upper management refuses to listen to US hires regardless of the experience they bring to the table. Despite having a lengthy recruitment process and being extremely particular in who they will interview, the team's experience means nothing unless upper management deems it worth noting. If you want to survive, you need to just do as you're told. Don't question it- just do it. Pay is offensive and pay raises are not considered because the team doesn't "deserve" it. Time off is never really time off. You have to be available at all times. If you have your laptop open or the internal messaging app on your phone, expect notifications ALL THE TIME unless you turn it off. Burn out is high in the US. While all employers were allowing WFH during a global pandemic, the US was not given much of an option. It was decided that there was no trust and no visibility on the work so everyone needed to be in the office.

Pros

Nothing is pros in this company.

Cons

If you're considering a role within the Data Analytics team at Lalamove, my advice would be to seriously reconsider. Senior management lacks a technical background and has no understanding of the core aspects of data analytics, including coding and technical processes. This lack of technical expertise leads to poor decision-making and a general mismanagement of the team. Moreover, management style is abrasive and unprofessional—People have tendency to publicly humiliate employees without cause, fostering a toxic work environment. His temper and inconsistency in leadership create a high-stress atmosphere that discourages collaboration and personal growth. Overall, the combination of poor technical understanding and toxic leadership makes this team an unhealthy place to work. I would strongly advise against accepting an offer to join this department.
