Pros

Excellent benefits and a decent wage to start out. Training is VERY thorough.

Cons

HR was NOT very people oriented, and was adamant about enforcing trivial things over protecting and taking care of employees. Being an employee felt more like being a number. It was clear that a few managers operated like employees are replaceable. The parking situation was terrible as of the time when I left the company. Overflow parking was at a nearby church and required a 5-10 minute walk to get to the building. There was pregnant employee at that time who needed a closer parking spot during her third trimester. HR told her she needed a doctors note to get a reserved parking spot. The woman was visibly pregnant. And there were plenty of empty reserved spots not being used. I don’t think she came back after maternity leave and I don’t blame her. It’s just sad to know that companies operate like this nowadays.

Pros

Good internship program, talks from different teams ensure that you become familiar with the shipping industry and how the company works. The people there are great. They love working there. Interns have scheduled meetings with senior leadership. Senior leadership is super easy to talk to and comfortable to be around.

Cons

It depends on the team, but some interns did not have a project/assignment ready for them to work on at the start.
