Pros

Strong advantages if you belong to favored internal preferred group or leadership-preferred groups.

Cons

Talent and merit are consistently undervalued. Advancement and day-to-day treatment appear to be influenced more by internal favoritism and group dynamics than by skills, performance, or results. This creates an environment where capable employees feel ignored, sidelined, or deliberately demoralized over time. The culture is highly toxic. Public criticism, subtle humiliation, and exclusion are normalized. Team meetings often discourage open collaboration, and there is visible pressure to avoid or isolate certain team members rather than address issues professionally. Leadership within Talent Acquisition lacks the competence and credibility expected for the role. Projects with poor outcomes are repeatedly presented without accountability or learning, despite being widely criticized internally and externally for quality issues. Multiple concerns have reportedly been raised, but HR support is ineffective. HR partners appear preoccupied with internal conflicts, which allows poor leadership behavior to continue unchecked. No matter how skilled or committed you are, the environment has a way of making everyone feel equally undervalued and replaceable.

Pros

The people, the salary, Christmas vacation

Cons

Benefits are terrible, toxic leadership is prolific, chances for advancement are limited, micromanagement is normal, evolution and change are nonexistent, commitment to diversity and inclusion are superficial at best, the CEO draw a compensation of tens of millions of dollars per year while laying people off, the CHRO is one of the most toxic people leaders I have ever come across.
