Pros

Internship is centered around a 3-month long project with a mentor and a manager to help you. You have a chance to make significant contributions to your team's codebase and even push your code to production. Knowledgeable and friendly coworkers.

Cons

Internship is centered around a 3-month long project; if the project is badly designed, you may have a terrible experience (as did I). Many datasets and tools to familiarize yourself with, some of which are poorly documented so if your mentor and manager are busy or can't help you, you'll be on your own. I didn't get to choose what team to work for and what project to tackle; I didn't even get to state my preferences.

Pros

Really smart people, a lot of opportunity for growth, always encouraged to be innovative, think big, and create something new. Competitive salary and benefits with other major tech companies. 100% self motivating work environment. No dress code and 4 legged friends are welcome.

Cons

You have to be self motivated. NO ONE will hold your hand and tell you that you're doing a great job. If you need constant affirmations from management, this company isn't for you.
