Pros

Not many pros anymore. The offset printing industry as a whole is struggling, and Kodak is 10 years too late to the digital market. Upper management is disconnected from the employee base. Perhaps the only thing they are doing that is correct, estate versifying outside of the printing industry, i.e. the battery manufacturing industry by repurposing there coating technologies to that industry. Many of the long-term employees that are still there are very knowledgeable, but our timing out and will be retiring soon not to mention that a level of frustration with the current situation at Kodak likely impacts the quality of their work.

Cons

The CEO is completely out of touch with reality. His comments to employees on companywide meetings are insulting and belittling. The company is part of a dying industry in a desperately clinging to get into the digital side, but just as they do with digital cameras, they are too late to the market with digital printing. The company is now becoming staffed with the leftovers and new hires with no industry experience and cronies from upper management. Long-term employees are being let go within a year of their retirement, strictly as a cost savings with a little regard to their knowledge (or the loss of their knowledge) and or transferring that knowledge to the changing guard.

Pros

The people I work with and my immediate supervision have always been great and a driving force in staying in the hope that one day Kodak could return to being the once great company it used to be.

Cons

New Executive Leadership creates an unpleasant work environment. CEO runs the company by instilling fear and intimidating the employees, He constantly tells the employees “if you don’t like it I’ll help you pack your office”. Took away our flexibility to work from home that has been in place for years. Office environment is bleak and depressing. Old decaying, empty buildings, a reminder of the great company Kodak used to be but no longer is. Closed our cafeterias, now we are forced to eat unhealthy food out of vending machines. Haven’t had any raises or promised performance bonuses in 8 years. No professional development. Training is basically nonexistent, new employees are forced to learn what they can from their coworkers. Stagnated careers, no promotional opportunities because the company is always in the downsizing mode. Never ending layoffs, furloughs and pay cuts. Shrinking benefits.

Pros

You will gain experience in the positon

Cons

They will give you more and more work with little pay. The more work you get you are expected to feel "honored" that they are giving you more to do. Raises are very taboo. If you ask they will just say that they will see if they can. Basic culture around here is to "just be happy you have a job"
