Fantastic growth opportunities make Covidien an exciting place to work. The medicial industry in general is a good place to be and working for one of the market leaders in many areas makes it even more rewarding. Since to spin off from Tyco, Covidien has invested heavily in new product development and is focused on becoming a true leader in innovative healthcare solutions.

Cons

It takes a lot of hard work to evolve and grow. Pressure to succeed is high and the hours can be long.

Pros

Summer early release program, decent 401k matching, tuition reimbursement. They donated a lot of product to the Haiti relief efforts. the products are something you can stand behind.

Cons

The hoops to be jumped through just to enroll your children in healthcare are unbelievable. Many things were promised before and during acquisition that turned out to be flat wrong - departments who were told they would be integrated were instead eliminated. They said - many times - they "don't want to break what works" - then they turned around and eliminated our processes.... not three months later half of those "not applicable" processes were reinstated because the old way turned out to have been the best practice after all.

Did not get a tour of campus. Orientation was not thorough enough. Not given all the benefits the company has to offer.
