      Since the merger, employees are no longer empowered and benefits keep decreasing for most employees outside of executive leadership.

      My pay has decreased since United Technologies bought Collins. The company contribution for the savings plan has decreased from 8% to 5.5% of my salary. At the end of 2019 the bonus plan will end for regular engineers. This is equivalent to a 4% decrease in salary in a normal year. Now they are telling us that we must make up sick days by working extra hours when we return to work.

      If you're a manager, then you will receive a retention bonus.

      Cons

      If you're an engineer, then you will be replaced by people from Cedar Rapids or India (without the skills/knowledge). The management and project engineers have experience, but no relevant experience (particularly in the mobile space). The GUIs are not designed by UX designers, but by management and systems engineers (primary tasks are going to meetings and writing on wiki pages). The software engineers are routinely tasked with implementing unintuitive GUIs. Rockwell Collins had below average benefits and salary, but UTC has lowered the bar.
