Pros

The People - The team I worked with directly are now good friends of mine. They deserve the very best and they do great work.

Cons

Cielo does not realize what they have until they lose it. Management is the biggest culprit here. There is a lack of trust between management and the team, and it becomes too demoralizing to take any longer. There are a select few that make it extremely difficult to enjoy working at Cielo. Specific examples of these acts include constant pushback from partnering teams who do not trust the expertise that our team has, a lack of understanding of bandwidth restrictions, lack of accountability from partner teams, and an overall sense of being on your own with a lack of support from direct manager.

Hi, this is Darren Simons, President of the Americas. I’m happy to read you made such great friends while working at Cielo, and sad to read that you left with a not-so-positive perception of the organization. Our Consulting services, including Social Media, are critical to our success, and the service we deliver is only as strong as that of our internal relationships. So often we’re focused on our external customer service, and it’s important that we are also evaluating our internal service on an ongoing basis as well. Recently, we conducted an internal survey to collect feedback about the internal collaboration and service that enables the service excellence we deliver. The responses will inform an action plan that should address some of the issues that you mention in your review. Best wishes on the next chapter of your career.

Pros

Getting paid and a few nice people I work with .

Cons

They had a massive layoff although this has been a record breaking sales year and people who have been with the company for 5,10,15 plus years a lot got laid off who are good performers. I was safe but this shows the kind of company I work for and I will not represent a company this is shady and favors people vs performance . Only take this job if you are okay not having a job in a few months .

Hi, this is Sue Marks. First, I’d like to thank you very sincerely for over a decade of service to Cielo. And I do hope you’ll stay with us for another 10, because our people make Cielo a great place to work. Having said that, your comments are troubling. I take them personally, in the best sense of that word, as do our other leaders. I’d urge you to connect with me or another Cielo senior executive to share your thoughts personally and ask the many questions I know you must have. As a team member with a management role in our organization, it’s distressing to me that you don’t recommend, have a negative outlook for and disapprove of our leadership. Please help us continue to improve and grow, as I want every one of us to be proud of the organization we bring our talents to every day. I say that knowing fully that we are not and probably never will be perfect. But what I do know is that we will always be listening, we will always be learning and we will always be improving, because we truly want to create an organization where people can do the best work of their careers and love doing it. I’m very proud of the people of Cielo and all they’ve accomplished in just over a decade. And that pride includes you! Cielo has a very distinct culture, though, and it’s not a place for everyone. Our ethos is “Ever Forward” and our EVP, employer value proposition, is “Own Your Success." As we continue to grow and the business needs to scale to meet new competitive, customer and market demands, we have to change to adapt to our place in a shifting landscape. And while most of the time that means we have many opportunities for our team members to learn and grow, sometimes that means that we have to shake hands or hug and say good-bye and good luck to one of our own. I hope you’ll stop by my office or contact me any time at sue.marks@cielotalent.com , or talk with one of our other senior executives. Thank you again for your constructive criticism and feedback.

Pros

-Technologically advanced -Community involvement -Plenty of remote opportunities There's nothing else I can say that is a pro of working at this place.

Cons

Cielo is all about it's image and reputation, as it should be. However, the image it portrays publicly is not accurate. They preach about culture, engagement, innovation, etc. But, if you don't do as things the way they want them done, there's a problem. They aren't open to new innovative ideas or constructive criticism. To put it bluntly, they are ethically immoral. Examples- **Management will never tell a client no. It doesn't matter if what the client request is completely ludicrous or illegal. They will not educate their clients on the actual employment laws. But, rather do whatever the employer requests regardless of legality issues. Iif you don't agree---PREPARE FOR HORRIBLE HIRING MANAGERS reviews. They would rather discriminate on behalf of their client than have a potentially unsatisfied customer. News flash CIELO - your client hired you to keep things legal and compliant. It's okay to remind them of that. **Disciplinary action and any processes/procedures are completely inconsistent throughout the company. For example, I was terminated for not meeting a particular metric. However, when I was hired on and inquired to my manager about what goals and metrics I had to meet during my first year her response was this: "Oh, we don't worry about goals and metrics in your first year. It's just about learning the business and positions you are hiring for." But, then when I was let go her exact words were "We are terminating your employment effective immediately based on this metric that you have consistently not been able to meet." Go figure - I thought I didn't have any metrics to meet in my first year? This was also done with no verbal or written warnings and no PIP. **Favoritism is rampant. If you want to go anywhere with Cielo, make sure to make everyone your best friend. **Plan on working at least 55-60 hours per week. There is no such thing as work life balance here. They provide you with a Cielo laptop, client laptop and a cell phone. Be prepared to take this with you wherever you go. **No recognition of a job well done. It doesn't matter if you just stayed up all night and started work again at 8am, there will be no recognition of it. You could have just come up with an amazing new process and implemented the entire thing and it will be thankless.
