Pros

They are very good at sending out a mass email to notify their employees that they have been furloughed and/or had to take a mandatory cut in pay.

Cons

The bonus is never paid out. They took away the 401K match. And now they just cut our pay by 10% and notified us by a company wide email...not a phone call. Email.

Hi, this is Greg Summers, President of North America. Like many organizations, the economic impact of COVID-19 has put us in the challenging position to make some temporary changes to our workforce. Our goal through the communications we’ve been sending over the past few weeks has been to be as transparent as possible, and to help our people understand that we’re all in this together. Like all companies experiencing the pace of change that we have for the past few weeks, the means of communication we normally depend on may not be viable. I know our managers did their best to get to everyone prior to the company announcement being sent, but I understand some were not able to connect with their team members in time. We’re doing our best to keep employees informed in a timely manner, and appreciate the way they have adapted during this unprecedented time. I encourage you to contact me or your leader to talk more about your experience. I’m available any time through Teams or at greg.summers@cielotalent.com.

Pros

work from home/ PTO when needed, flexible hours

Cons

I have been with the company for over 3 years and will little to show for it. Recently, I have reached out to 4 leaders in regards to seeking mentorship opportunities or simply an opportunity to network and connect, sadly I have just been ignored. I am not sure how a company who enforces communication for their clients, so simply just ignores a simple "let's connect" email. Makes no sense, the company has shifted drastically in the past 3 years. When I joined the company, cubies were filled with rows of happy employees, now- there are tons of empty desks and it's disheartening to see so many people overworked and unhappy. The idea of "it's not in the budget to hire more staff is setting this company up for failure. At the end of the day, internal politics aside, the clients are the ones who suffer. With a company who positions themselves as the "client comes first" for this company- this not the case. The client gets lied to in meeting with a bunch of show-stopper sales pitch and then the teams don't deliver, sadly recruiters are the first on the chopping block. Leaders aren't held accountable as they should be. They bark out commands and needs but aren't the ones providing the strategy to overcome. I will most likely resign soon. With a company that had seemed so much to offer, that dream has sadly run its course. I appreciate this platform as it has allowed so many brave voices finally come to light.

Pros

-Remote work option plus flexible schedule. -Made great friends. -Left. Bonus Pro: -If you love throwing people under the bus, boy is this the place for you!

Cons

The Brand and Social team had a 12 person turnover rate in less than a year. You're not valued by upper management as an expert, co-worker, or human being. You're in constant fear that you're going to lose your job if you fall out of line. If you bring issues or problems to management, you're seen as a 'negative person' and not a team player. Four people were let go in a "restructuring" last year, and since then, all of those positions have been hired back. We lost amazing teammates that Spring, as well as a couple of the best bosses. The managers that were hired to "fix" everything and bring high-level strategy had no experience and did not do their job. You feel extremely replaceable. There were EMPTY promises of promotions. PAY is well UNDER market value. Upper management continues to BULLY and fear monger. We were hourly employees expected to constantly churn out "URGENT" last minute projects, but weren't allowed to "record" our overtime. Both internal and external expectations were never properly managed and all of the work and blame fell on us. We were not given any resources to properly do our jobs because there was never enough importance placed on us. We were expected to be "experts" but were never provided any training opportunities to advance our skills or our career. Cielo has an "own your success" mantra, but it should really say "OWN YOUR SUCCESS, BUT NOT HERE" because that is 100% more accurate. We were denied career advancement opportunities despite multiple attempts to get them and also despite the fact that we were already doing the work for higher positions for ridiculous pay. If you're expecting a level playing field, this is not the place for you. Valid concerns were constantly brushed under the rug and certain people were "untouchable." The scariest part of it all? ALL of this was brought to HR multiple times by multiple people and NOTHING was done about it. Nobody cared. Run. Away.
