Pros

CRISIL provides Flexibility in terms of the policies its makes for employees. They are employee friendly. It also provides good career options.

Cons

The culture is beauraucratic difficult to handle. The politics get dirty after a point, while management has agenda of its own it tells its empoyess not have. Transparency has taken a beating after some recent events internally. Not a good paymaster.

Pros

The people I work with is young and competent. I have the chance to work side by side with people in the top investment banks globally.

Cons

The work can become really boring. We generally dont get to experience the most gratifying things of working as a research analyst, for example meeting with clients.

Pros

Good office and seating, Experience, learning and work culture will depend upon unit you join. Some are great units to work. All depends on the Head / Director of your group and also reporting manager. Good experience till you reach a Head level. Look for short stints of 2-3 years in a unit and opt or seek job rotation. Job rotation is good policy & brings in experience.

Cons

If you are looking for a top job, you can as well tie a 8 pound to your neck and jump of the nearest bridge!!! You will be provided with golden handcuffs, asked to chain yourself and throw away the key. Be prepared then to be flogged and conditioned continuously till you are subjugated to absolute obedience. I have heard of a guy breaking down to tears after consistent and unbroken torture of words and shouting. If you are joining the place then be sure to bid good bye to any personal life and don't dream of any vestige of self-respect. You will be continuosly abused, whether you do a good job or not and also be conditioned to enjoy this torture!! Many poeple recruited in the past 2-3 years at top jobs and could not last long. One guy who was asked to leave in a short span, went into a long depression and heard he is yet to recover from his depression. Another person was so disgusted that he quit in a year and his exit interview feedback was so hard hitting that HR deemed it fit for the dustbin rather than pass up the honest feedback. A couple of more people are getting used to being target practice. Another is using all his bureaucratic skills to hang on. Most guys undergo this torture silently, while some have a constant crib life in the company but do nothing about it. Ask around, do your probing, try and get feedbacks from those who left rather than those inside. Look at the track record of people who have left the company in the last 2-3 years. Ask yourself why so many people at the top have left? If you still feel upto it and you are made of sterner stuff or there is equal torture in your current work place, then do take the plunge.
