      Pros

      Employees are empowered to do what is right for the farmer and ranchers that own the company. Who still provides a pension, profit sharing, variable pay, 401K and affordable healthcare? With a strong commitment to employee advancement, training and management that treat you like a true member of a team, CHS is a gem among other Fortune 100 companies. And on top of it all safety is a core value that runs through the company. I don't think thought I'd work for a company and fellow employees that would care so much about me.

      Cons

      Location is a bit of a trek for folks living in the western suburbs.

      Pros

      CHS feels like a big family. There is great flexibility, growth, opportunity, support, and community involvement.

      Cons

      The only con I have found is that I live a ways away so the drive is a bit in the winter to HQ.

      Pros

      Even in a couple of lean years they have stayed busy and there have been no layoffs; annual pay increases have remained in tact. When the markets turn around again, the potential bonus set up is generous.

      Cons

      Corporate headquarters is in Minnesota; we are a long ways from Minnesota, and it often feels that way. CHS in name only, based upon the signs on the outside of the building. Hard to feel like we are truly part o the CHS team.
