Pros

Good work life balance: On Friday we knock off at 5 pm and get to wear smart casual to the office daily. Good business travel benefits: If you are on business travel, Bunge will put you up in a good hotel with everything paid for. Regardless of rank, if the travel takes more than 6 hours, they put on a business class flight. Nonetheless, those who get to enjoy this benefit are senior management who travel more frequently. Good learning opportunities: Most colleagues are friendly and are willing to teach. HR also organise frequent classes to train employees on required skills.

Cons

High Gini coefficient: Top management is paid a lot more than junior staffs. Bunge is a company with a flat structure. Therefore, the chance of climbing up the corporate ladder is a lot lesser. In other words, be expected to get stuck with below-market compensation for a long period of time. Below market compensation: They always try to pay below market rate. Most people stay either because they cannot find a job elsewhere, they have a family and need the work-life balance, they are paid well (for senior management), or they are new to the industry who are trying to learn as much before moving on. High turnover: On average, 1 people resign from Bunge monthly, and most of those who resigned are mid- and junior executives who don't see prospect staying at Bunge. Those who leave are usually talented and thus able to get better offer outside. If there is a steady outflow of talents, what does that leave Bunge with for those who stayed behind? Low morale leading to sub-par performance: The staffs at Bunge have low morale due to aforesaid reasons, leading to sub-par performance. The sub-par performance leads to work dissatisfaction which further drive talents out. This is a vicious cycle.
