Pros

I manage to pay my bills, feed my baby...

Cons

The shifts are ridiculous. Starting a shift at 7,30am means that you have to wake up at 5am, leave the house at 6.30am, on a weekday the first bus leaves at 7am, so you may arrive at work ontime. On the weekends, no chance, you have to take a taxi which would be a minimum of £15. When you are sick or away from work for even a day, the attendance unit hound you like a pack of wolves. Sending emails, letters, repeatedly calling you everyday, speaking with your manager behind your back... it does get quite ridiculous. Managers/other colleagues enjoy it when other agents get budgets. Sometimes they proactively issue you with a budget with a smile on their face. There are so many new people in the office. I look around and I don't know anyone there. If you breathe too hard this will be recorded by your manage and fed back to you. The targets are so high that around 98% of the office are in a 'process' a process triggered by failing to hit targets. The funny thing is that when you do hit the targets - nothing happens. Team leaders often walk away when you approach the duty desk, like they are scared of your query or just being generally evasive.

Pros

The best bit is the odd day off you might get in a foreign city, and your well earned days off at home.

Cons

It's thankless. Customers dont care about you and the company doesn't care about you. It's very physical work and you spend a lot of time trying to catch up on sleep. You will never have any kind of financial stability with the low rate of pay. One false move and you are out the door. Grandma died? too bad you cant have the day off. Sick again? Three strikes and you are out.

Pros

The free tea and coffee. My desk is nice. The free British Airways highlighter pen. An appreciation that life is too short to work here.

Cons

Huge staff turnover. Management at all levels have no airline or travel industry experience whatsoever. Formal complaints made against staff for undermining their colleagues.
