Since going 'public', company too focused on earnings, and not their employees, who actually 'make' them their $$$

Average benefits; average pay; plant-performance based bonus program; recognition program for annual service / hire date (you get a cool t-shirt....yeah!); as with most places, many great coworkers help make the job enjoyable

Cons

never know if / when your plant will be shuttered due to lack of communication from corporate regarding 'how' your plant fits into their long-term strategy; poor or no annual pay raises for seasoned hourly employees; benefits' cost, for family plans, take too big a chunk of take-home pay

Overall satisfied with the work at Berry Plastics, would not recommend it for long term but for something short its ok.

Pros

Usually have enough work to keep you busy, so the days seem to pass faster. Overall no issues with HR or getting paid on time. Vacation time is decent, and benefits cover enough for the average person.

Cons

Very long hours most of the time, and old equipment. While the benefits do cover enough, they are more expensive than most places. No sick days, goes off of a point system. Company as a whole is not doing very well financially.
