Toxic work environment
Pros
I honestly can’t think of any, other than the fact that there are some incredibly talented people who still work here but unfortunately are not valued or recognised. So you can have a great group of people on your team and they’ll get you through a shift but it’s not sustainable.
Cons
Toxic management culture Just enough pay to make you dependant on the wage but 0 chance of a decent bonus or pay rise. No progression unless you’re a ‘favourite’. Gatekeeping as soon as managers get to a certain position and will often disappear into meetings for hours at a time with no discernible reason or outcome. Timed toilet breaks. Poor quality and shared equipment, chairs with giant chunks of foam missing for e.g High pressure to maintain a number of calls but no real incentive to do so, other than for a peaceful life. Car park is too small. Rotating shifts where you would be penalised if you weren’t at your desk, logged on 20 minutes early because the PC can’t handle the software you’re required to run. So if you were 1 minute late logging on because your PC had given up, get ready for a nonsense meeting with your manager about productivity and time docked from your break. However you had to prepared for the reality that you would also stay (also unpaid) for at least 20 minutes after your shift because you stayed until the call you were handling was complete. And if you tried to wrap up the call around your finishing time, you were treated as though you were cheating at something- having a healthy work/life balance maybe?
