Management are improving

Pros

Assistant Directors provide great supports.

Cons

Staffing is difficult, the program was never fully staffed, causing problems with consistency. Managers don’t get overtime unless they work more than 4 hours, so lost wages for anything over 8 hours. Managers have to fill in on shifts , or stay when they can’t find anyone. Lots of paperwork generated.

Do Not Work at BAMSI!

Pros

The consumers are really sweet, good people who appreciate everything you do for them. Their care for all of us who work with them is what keeps me working there.

Cons

BAMSI is so poorly managed at the very top. They do not care for their employees at all. All they care about is their fat-cat salaries, the free car that the CEO has always gotten (paid by the state of MA), and are rude to their employees. If they were only as nice to us as the clients are then it would be a much better organziation. Sad; great, big company helping the state's most at need yet managed by a bunch of people who do not care about the work.

Pros

Wonderful clients, co-workers, direct support employees truly care, well thought out systems and training materials

Cons

Trainings are superficial (just paper signing sessions), managers are overworked and forced into ridiculous amounts of unpaid OT, very little admin support
