Pros
My experience has been that management truly values their people on a personal level, even if they aren't able to reflect that through promotions or pay. It's very much a "use your leave, take care of your kid if you need to, take a mental health day" kind of environment. The company had a great response to COVID. As with anywhere, management style does vary between offices/departments. I have spoken to people who have had more toxic work environments than I have. Benefits are pretty standard for the industry. Not amazing, but good.
Cons
Arcadis is acutely aware that they pay 20-30% below industry standard and seems to have no intention of reconciling. In two years I've known one person who has had a promotion. They'll bring an outside hire into an advanced position that they have no direct experience with but refuse to promote folks already doing that work. It seems like at the executive level, the company tries to be socially responsible by placing women and POC in leadership positions, but that isn't reflected at all in middle and lower management. Organizational structure is confusing and a lot of folks have given up on trying to understand it.
