Access to a wider range of discipline skill sets with merger. Better cost controls.

Cons

Arcadis is a conglomeration of smaller companies buying up small companies, and occassionally big companies - unfortunately still try to apply small company approach to large company issues. Revenue growth appears to be based on regularly acquiring another company, not on growing organically or growing strength of staff or quality of work. Feels like an engineering company structured by and run by accountants...

ARCADIS is able to provide very challenging work and there are there are many opportunities to develop professionally by challenging old ways and making business process improvements.

Cons

Very low tolerance to any slippage in productivity (billability) in operations results in continuous anxiety throughout, including corporate services groups which have relativley immature measures for demand, capacity, and performance.
