Pros

Air Liquide promotes from within the ranks. Your career is only limited by your ambition and desire to learn. Air LIquide is a financially conservative company, as such weathered the economic melt down and came out ahead with an increase in profitability over the previous year. Air Liquide empowers their employees to make decisions and usually supports those decisions. It is a great place to work and have a career not just a job. The customer base and uses for their product are diverse and cover the entire spectrum from a small mom and pop operation to multi-million dollar refineries. Air Liquide has a profit sharing plan called Goal$hare that is usually worth about 4% of your base salary.

Cons

There are eight business units or entities that make up Air Liquide America. Each is operated and behaves like its own company. If you do not have a degree or an MBA your advancement is limited.

Pros

A large company that still treats its employees as the most valuable resource and investment they can make. You are able to create your own success plan and management will help you attain your personal growth goals. The company is fiscally conservative and did not have very many layoffs, just encouraged a few of the long timers who were eligible for retirement to retire.

Cons

Advancement is the only way to gain large percetnage wage increases. The raises are reasonable, not every manager has a clear understanding of the review process and how to conduct it effectively.
