Pros

Some of the people I worked with were nice but anyone with any sense leaves as soon as possible.

Cons

Workload is really high. The pace you are expected to work at to get through all the samples left people in pain/with rsi. Some people would start a job there and leave either the same day or a few days later. It says a lot when people quit before even really starting. Staff are rude and don't motivate or thank you for going above and beyond. They will teach you what to do and then when it comes to audit, teach you an alternative way of doing things. My advice would be to never even contemplate working here. If i can prevent even just one person having to endure working here, then writing this review was worth taking the time to do.

Pros

Good benefits, strong code of conduct. Great company in good times.

Cons

Management plays games with you. If your boss has an issue with you, he/she will go behind your back and not discuss with you face to face. Managers have a tendency to play favourites and purposely exclude people. Also, they let people go the day they return from maternity leave or disability. Don't believe the speeches from upper and middle management. You are nothing but a ledger line.

Pros

Apparently I need a 20 word minimum here but I can't think of anything to say that is positive so I'll just say that before ALS took over Envirotest, I had a good job.

Cons

I thought the experience at ETL Edmonton was unique but in reading some of the other reviews there seems to be a pattern. ALS identifies a good lab. ALS buys out the owners. ALS management imposes their flawed corporate strategies. ALS is then surprised to meet resistance from senior employees. ALS forces out those employees rather than try to learn from them. It apparently didn't just happen in Edmonton. It looks like it happened in Kelso, Prague, etc.
