Pros

Pay is reasonable, coworkers are friendly and helpful. In the early days I was incentivised to do a good job and the manager at the time looked after me by putting me through training and being flexible. They were fired within months.

Cons

I've been with ALS for over 5 years. I've seen many people come through the company and a number of different managers take the helm. The one constant throughout all of these changes is that management are extremely anti-worker. I've overheard several times when senior management have slipped their tongue and blatantly said very insulting things to other staff, within earshot of workers. All in the face of our commitment and effort to making their profits for them. These people are put in place to carry out the directives of senior execs and directors, and actively disregard concerns and initiative of people lower in the hierarchy. HR employ very insidious tactics to have you comply, shut up, put your head down and not rock the boat. All with a big Cheshire cat smile. The consensus with colleagues is that we absorb the losses and mismanagement within the company, either through reduced benefits, forced leave, termination of employment or lack of promotion. This further embeds the inequalities that they egregiously claim to be solving. Nepotism is rife and you'll have new recruits that jump into positions above you that are reserved for them. Staff are a bunch of bootlickers that mooch around on their salaries and masquerade as being equal to you (they'll even bluff by saying disparaging comments about senior management without being prompted). Lastly, to add insult - whether I do a good job or not, it makes no difference. Performance is rarely evaluated and promotions are non-existent. Do yourself a favour, take your skills elsewhere. If you have to, use them as a stepping stone to a better company - there's plenty out there.

Pros

Some cash is better than no cash. A job is a job, until you would rather starve to death than work here.

Cons

“If you go to HR you will find yourself without a job” Work hard and get more work than you can handle. Finding out Friday afternoon that you get to work the weekend or the equivalent of last minute. Promoted to the highest level of incompetence is frustrating to watch. Sneaky AF management. Clients see how sketchy it is. Embarrassing when you work there. Big boss losing the company future work. Sell products they don’t really have... yet. “Operation Takedown” strategy is main reason for new hires. AKA: you are getting hired to steal work from another mudlogging company. Not even a secret. This is a common phrase heard in the office. Zero care for employees work/life balance. Require full dedication to ALS being number 1 in your life. ALS treating you like an abuser you can’t seem to get away from. AKA: we will work you so much you won’t even have time to get another interview for another job. We will pay you so little you won’t be able to miss a day of work to go on your interview.
