I've been with ALS for over 5 years. I've seen many people come through the company and a number of different managers take the helm. The one constant throughout all of these changes is that management are extremely anti-worker. I've overheard several times when senior management have slipped their tongue and blatantly said very insulting things to other staff, within earshot of workers. All in the face of our commitment and effort to making their profits for them. These people are put in place to carry out the directives of senior execs and directors, and actively disregard concerns and initiative of people lower in the hierarchy. HR employ very insidious tactics to have you comply, shut up, put your head down and not rock the boat. All with a big Cheshire cat smile. The consensus with colleagues is that we absorb the losses and mismanagement within the company, either through reduced benefits, forced leave, termination of employment or lack of promotion. This further embeds the inequalities that they egregiously claim to be solving. Nepotism is rife and you'll have new recruits that jump into positions above you that are reserved for them. Staff are a bunch of bootlickers that mooch around on their salaries and masquerade as being equal to you (they'll even bluff by saying disparaging comments about senior management without being prompted). Lastly, to add insult - whether I do a good job or not, it makes no difference. Performance is rarely evaluated and promotions are non-existent. Do yourself a favour, take your skills elsewhere. If you have to, use them as a stepping stone to a better company - there's plenty out there.
