Job responsibilities:
Provide technical leadership in all facets of project delivery including innovations in tendering, estimating and planning plus involvement in industry research and standards whilst embracing an impressive suite of company systems in achieving cost effective outcomes.
To ensure all work carried out conforms with agreed codes and practices, meets all requirements of the contract specifications and ensure all work is carried out within agreed schedule & budget following Company procedures.
Initiate and oversee specific pipeline design tasks performed by engineers related to onshore pipeline systems. Able to plan the work, delegate appropriately, drive the team and have an effective coordination with distributed teams (GID and other support offices) for optimized execution.
Able to guide team on use of standards to achieve safe and sustainable design with a focus on value creation. Able to set KPIs for the team members and monitor the same with an empathy and encouragement to achieve or exceed the set KPIs.

- Leading discipline team onto the assigned project(s). Discipline team may comprise of multi-cultural and/or multi-location resources.
- Experience in preparation of Pipeline Design documents independently and complete the design activities within specified schedule & budget.
- Self-motivated, shall work independently leading the team of engineers & designers for the project with effective communication with Project Managers/PEMs and Discipline Manager.
- Pro-active, should be able to guide Engineers & Designers on technical and non-technical issues towards effective solutions.
- Capable of executing multiple tasks and delivering it efficiently within specified schedule.
· Pipeline route selection, to optimise costs of new pipelines.
· Pipeline sizing and design to meet performance criteria.
· Cost estimating for pipelines and facilities.
· Providing pipeline construction support.
· Up to date knowledge and experience in onshore pipeline design codes for oil and gas industry
· All design engineering activities, project m anagement skills, technical execution and completion of assigned engineering tasks
· Assisting the project engineers in the co-ordination and preparation of input into the contract documents for each discipline area, including design criteria, scope of work, procedures and design approach.
· Monitoring team productivity with effective budget control measures.
· Liaison and co-ordination with other engineers and discipline groups on the contract to effect timely production of deliverables.
· Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and procedures
· Provide interpretation and verification of design & engineering
· Facilitate and administer interdisciplinary coordination
· Providing proposal inputs for the new jobs under bidding stage.
· Setting high performance standards for the team of engineers working on the assigned project.
Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system relevant to the Oil & Gas Business Unit.
Industry Specific Experience
Must have vast pipeline design engineering experience in the Oil and Gas industry industry.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training :
Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period
Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage
