Interview Experience at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. I had the opportunity to interview at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd. for a position. The interview process was straightforward and primarily focused on my technical skills and the projects I have worked on. 1. Introduction: The interview began with a brief introduction where I was asked to talk about myself, my background, and my academic journey. I highlighted my experience in computer science, the projects I had completed, and my technical skills in C++, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as mentioned in my resume. 2. OOPs Concepts: The next set of questions revolved around Object-Oriented Programming concepts. Some of the questions included: What are the four pillars of OOP (Inheritance, Encapsulation, Polymorphism, Abstraction)? Explain the difference between method overloading and method overriding. How does inheritance work in C++? Can you give an example? I provided examples from my previous coding experience to explain these concepts in detail. 3. DBMS Concepts: The interviewer asked several questions on Database Management Systems (DBMS). Some of the key topics covered were: What is normalization, and why is it important? Explain the different types of SQL joins. How do indexing and transactions work in databases? I discussed these topics and provided examples from my project work, where I had used PostgreSQL as the database. 4. Project Discussion: I was asked to describe one of the major projects from my resume. I talked about the event management website that I developed as part of my internship at CDAC Delhi. I explained how I used HTML, CSS for frontend, and Node.js with PostgreSQL for the backend. They were particularly interested in the challenges I faced during the project and how I solved them. 5. Skills from the Resume: The interviewer then went over the technical skills I had listed on my resume. They asked questions related to: My proficiency in C++ and how I’ve applied it in my projects. How I’ve used HTML and CSS for web development. Any experience I had with databases and how I manage data in my projects. 6. HR Questions: The interview concluded with a few HR-related questions, such as: Why do you want to work at Jindal Steel & Power Ltd.? Where do you see yourself in the next five years? How do you handle pressure and tight deadlines? I answered these questions honestly, aligning my goals with the company’s values and discussing how I manage time effectively. Overall Experience: The interview was a great experience, with a balanced mix of technical and HR questions. The interviewer was friendly and allowed me to elaborate on my answers. If you’re preparing for an interview at Jindal, I would recommend brushing up on OOPs and DBMS concepts, as well as being ready to discuss your projects in detail.
