Presentation interview and exercise An element of the selection process for this position is a presentation exercise. Your presentation is an opportunity to communicate more about you, your talents, and the value you would add to Verisk. It’s also a chance to demonstrate how you can provide and articulate persuasive analysis to stakeholders and peers. We’d like you to: Identify a product or service that has launched in the past two years that you believe is particularly revolutionary Explain why this product is an improvement for its customers, and what about it is well-designed How will the product impact market conditions and the competitive climate in its industry From there, identify up to three areas of the product that could be improved. Explain how you would evolve the product to address these issues and how you’d assess whether these changes had a positive impact. The product or service may or may not be related to insurance or technology, but, naturally, particular relevance to our industry and customers is appreciated. The conversation will begin with your presentation. It will run up to 60 minutes during which time you’ll have up to 20 minutes to share your presentation, followed by a Q&A session with the interview panel. The style, format, method, etc. is completely up to you. You should feel free to take any approach that will best represent you and your strengths. You should tailor your presentation to a panel of senior leaders on the digital products and platform team.

One of the more challenging questions I was asked related to how I handled a past scenario where I experienced a less than positive outcome and/or feedback. It was a really good question since it ultimately is looking for a personal example of how a potentially negative situation could be a catalyst for growth.
