In the group interview, they started by asking each of us to briefly introduce ourselves, including our background and why we were interested in the role. Then, we were given a small group assessment where we had to work together to solve a scenario, like managing a lab scheduling issue or handling a misplaced sample. This part was clearly designed to observe how we communicated, collaborated, and approached problem-solving. After that, we were split into smaller groups for more formal questions with one or two panel members. These individual questions focused on our suitability for the role, asking things like why we applied, how we handle competing deadlines, and examples of working in a team or resolving conflict. It was structured to assess both our interpersonal skills and how we’d perform in a real lab admin setting.
